5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Mexico Forward Of Nationwide Earthquake Drill Of 2023

MEXICO: In keeping with the U.S. Geological Survey (USG), a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck areas of southern Mexico on Tuesday night time and was felt within the capital. Nonetheless, there have been no experiences of accidents or destruction. This comes forward of the Nationwide Drill of Mexico 2023 scheduled for tomorrow.

As per the report from USG, the earthquake occurred round 60 miles (96km) northwest of the favored seaside city of Acapulco, in southern Guerrero state. 

Mayor of Mexico Metropolis Claudia Sheinbaum wrote on her official Twitter account that authorities decided the earthquake’s magnitude is inadequate to justify turning on town’s seismic alarm system. 

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre tweeted that the eyewitnesses noticed the buildings within the metropolis shake whereas the earthquake occurred.
